I’ve been thinking of so many things that I want (or need) to change for the coming year. One huge thing that’s been weighing on my mind, is this blog.
I started my first “blog”, way back in 2004, before it was cool, and before it was even called a “blog”…PrincessDelaney.com was conceived in order to follow Delaney’s many milestones, growth, and just general tidbits along the way. During that time, I also started pursuing photography in earnest, and after a few years of practice, study, and perseverance, decided to go pro. And then…Princess Delaney’s Blog became KIM PORTER PHOTOGRAPHY. And, all of a sudden, I got shy. I wanted my blog to be all about my “fabulous” photography, and figured no one would want to read about little ol’ me.
Well, tough titty, said the kitty.
One of my newest, but great friend, Monday West, only BECAME my friend because she got to know me via this blog. She started out as a blog reader. And, she decided I was an okay person, and then she read my blog and decided that I freakin’ ROCKED! Haha. (And, I took some cool pictures too, so she booked me.)
Well, THAT IS ENOUGH REASON FOR ME TO KEEP THIS BLOG GOING.
I want to go back to when my blog was just my journal with some cute pix along the way, and no one gave a crap about my “photography”.
In my heart, I think I am a decent journal-writer. I just uncovered a bunch of my old hand-written journals from middle school/high school/college that I can’t wait to dive into! In finding those, I realize that I MISS writing about my life experiences. Now, I am just more stoked that I can combine pictures WITH the stories I want to tell.
Will you join me in the New Year? Cuz, dangit! I don’t want to ONLY write for myself.
And, because every post deserves a picture, here is one from Monday’s very first session with me. She was expecting her 2nd daughter, Sedona, at the time. Now, 2 years later – expecting kid #3, next month! A BOY. She’s screwed, right?

Okay, so, how much can I write here? I’ll try to keep it short, but, everything she said above is TRUE. That IS actually how I got to know her, and, I don’t really like people, to tell the truth. EXCEPT for Hilarious people. And when I read Kim’s blog, I thought she was HILARIOUS, to say the least, and worthy of my friendship! HAHA….actually, the truth is, she’s THE most talented person I know. Not many people have both right brain AND left brain, this chick has both. Her photos are AMAZING, and, she’s a total NERD genius! She has single-handedly created my business website (which, she so generously posted the link above – thanks, Kim!) and has taken AMAZING photos of my kids for the past two years. And, to boot, is a really, really good friend. Most of all, she MAKES ME LAUGH. And I have to say, I can’t WAIT to see the next blog post, because I miss them. I miss the recipes, the pix of Delaney, and even Carmine and the Lizard. 2012 is going to be great! I am with you and promise to post more on my own blog (that KIM created) because that’s what I do, I follow directions when I get them from Kim.
Oh yeah, and, I am screwed. Thanks for reminding me. YOU FREAKING ROCK KIM!
